** sidenote or prenote! I just realized this didnt post last night. hmmm so here it is **
Here are some of my snapshots from the first two days. . .
This sweet little girl and I played some crazy version of chase laughing and her squeeling loudly. When we were done she came running up to me talking sooooo fast so I got a translator expecting to hear ” you are the best” or ” i love you” or “you are so funny” but nope here is what she said. . . “I just ate a whole bag of potato chips” yup.
I love love love showing the first moments getting off the bus at a project. Its filled with anxiety and joy as these sweet faces greet you. They continually thank us but if they only could really now how much we want to thank them!
I was able to sit in with one of our Compassion Directors as he met one of his sponsored children. She has since graduated from the program ( which is awesome!) and has become a mom. He sponsored her for 11 years until she graduated. Can I just say what a blessing to be able to capture that moment and be a part of their time getting to meet her and her sweet little baby, who happens to be the cutie in the hat below!
Yes, I got to hold and play with those cute little cheeks for the day.
Look at that face!
We visited a Child Survival Project where Compassion teaches young mothers how to care for their babies. Everything from health to motor skills. Its one of my favorites parts of what we do!
more to come. . .
